These are my tips for visiting the water parks in the Algarve:
- Compare the different parks first . Each park has different slides and activities. Compare the different parks and their prices on this page first and then choose which one you (or the children…) think is the most fun.
- Apply, apply, apply . Bring enough factor 50 sunscreen. Even though the pool water is cooling, you burn very quickly on clear blue days.
- Book your tickets in advance . Not only are tickets cheaper online, you may also save half an hour of waiting at the entrance under the warm Portuguese sun.
- Bring a bottle of water . Swimming and sunbathing dehydrate you quickly. Stay hydrated and save a few euros by bringing a bottle of drinking water.

Personally I would suggest to not to go to Zoomarine as its really not ethical to have dolphins in captivity and would recommend to go on a dolphin trip and watch them in the wild.

2. Aquashow Park & Hotel – Waterpark Algarve (may – sep)

3. Aqualand Algarve – Waterpark Algarve (jun – sep)
Cool off at Portugal’s most exciting water park: Aqualand Algarve . Located between Albufeira and Portimão, it’s a space of pure aquatic fun that lasts all day long. The park has something for everyone, from the “Children’s Paradis” area with mini slides and activities for the most adventurous kids, while adults can try high adrenaline levels on “Banzai” with a 23-metre vertical drop.

If you have to choose between all four water parks in the Algarve, I would go for the one that has the most to offer: Aquashow Park . Here you will find a huge range of slides, indoor pools (if it gets chilly) and there are various rides and shows.
Which water park is closest to Albufeira?
It is certainly possible to buy tickets at the door, but I advise against it during high season because all parks allow a maximum number of visitors per day. It would be a shame if you drive there and the park is sold out. Moreover, you get an online discount if you order tickets in advance.
